Almighty God

Almighty God, reigning in splendor and glory   who established a safe and sound world. Help us to lean and trust totally in You For there is nothing our Lord cannot do. Almighty God, who formed the oceans long ago with great waves thrashing across the shore. Your voice they know as they beat against the boundaries only you can create.  Psalm 93

A New Song in My Heart A new song in my heart I sing a song of worship to our King. Many will hear and fear the Lord and put their hope in Him. We are blessed as we trust in His name nothing can compare to what we have seen. Were I to tell of His awesome ways, they would be too many to proclaim. A new song in my heart I sing words of wisdom from our King. My Lord, I desire to do Your will sitting in your presence being still. Psalm 40

A Moment in Time There is a moment in time to be born and die a time to be cheerful and a time to cry.   A time to kneel and a time to heal a time to tear down and a time to build.   A time to be quiet and a time to speak a time to fast and a time to eat.   There is a moment in time to arrive and depart a time to be sad and a time to be glad.   A time to find and to seek And a time to discard and to keep.   A time of loss and a time of gain There is a moment in life for everything.   Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Written and published in  A Melody within My Heart  2014

A Precious Jewel

Image
During our visit to Washington, D.C., our family viewed the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian Institute. According to Wikipedia, the Hope Diamond is one of the most famous jewels in the world, with ownership records dating back almost four centuries. Its much-admired rare blue color is due to trace amounts of boron atoms. Weighing 45.52 carats, its exceptional size has revealed new findings about the formation of gemstones.      The Hope Diamond is a lovely stone. However, John, a disciple of Christ, wrote about something far greater than anything on this earth.   Heaven was revealed to him. “ Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as a crystal.    It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. The wall was made of jas...

A Time to Celebrate

Image
“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.” — Maya Angelou Turning 82 this year has been a profound blessing, and I am sincerely grateful for my family and friends. Celebrating with my cousin, Gayle at Ruby Tuesday and enjoying lunch with my husband and daughter at Chili’s were memorable experiences. I also enjoyed attending a movie with my friend Barbara— Soul on Fire was a powerful story of resilience and faith. Thank you to everyone who reached out with birthday cards, messages, lunches, and thoughtful gifts. I look forward to another year marked by gratitude and the continued goodness in my life. With heartfelt appreciation, I cherish each moment shared and every kindness received. I will always remember the laughter my cousin and I shared over lunch, and the joy of splitting a chocolate molten cake with my family. Your love and support mean more to me than words can exp...

A New Spirit He Gives

Remove the stony heart and set us apart so others may see and believe. Help us dear Father on this journey of life teach us to live in peace and not in strife. Chorus A heart and new Spirit our God gives so we may live according to His will. “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and will give them a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 11:19

Write to Publish

Image
"My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer."  Psalm 45:1 Do you want to be a writer but don't know where to start? I experienced the same feelings when I first started writing. Doors begin to open as I stepped out in faith believing with God all things are possible. Today, I have had hundreds of stories published in magazine articles, devotionals, and books. I can tell you it’s not been an easy journey and, in fact, one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Yet, one of the most fulfilling accomplishments I have ever made. If you’re struggling with doubt or uncertainty, know that you’re not alone. Many successful writers began with little knowledge or experience, but persistence and a willingness to learn made all the difference. The key is to take that first step, trust the Lord to help you, and remain open to growth along the way.
